Golf one putts starting to lip out a bunch?
This is for my 10-30 foot putts that I would sink every 5-15 shots. I hit them close to the right speed,if not a tad bit slow, but the lag putts that are short only miss by a few feet.
The greens I have played on recently have been fairly slick due to dryer hot weather-does that play a part? All winter/spring more putts dropped. thanx

Lip outs are due to speed control and lack of routine. When you start missing short putts that is the time to really focus on your routine. If you lag well it isn’t speed it’s just alignment and poor alignment comes from skipping steps in your routine.

First thing to determine. Have you changed your putting grip, hand tension or putting stroke even an almost unnotieable bit? Are you decelerating into the putt due to faster slicker greens? Have you changed your putting routine? Do you align the same way as in the past when you putted better? All of these may have a bearing on the ability to putt and the inconsistency which has crept into that part of your game.

Green conditions such as dryness will definitely have an affect on putting. In order to get the feel of the greens, you should take some time and practice before your round on the practice green. Although they are not exactly the same as the course greens, they will be close and can certainly give you a feel of how fast the greens are that day. Personally, I hate finding that out on the first green. Always practice on the practice greens first.

Lip outs mean you are hitting the hole, but just outside the line, or a bit too firmly. Either read a little less break and jam it in, or read a little more break and back off the speed to get them to drop instead of spinning out.
