Do you have to tip a golf pro?

I'd like to take a 3-hour golf lesson for $100. It's like a winter special at our driving range.

No, you don’t have to tip a Golf teaching professional.
They get an extra salary to make up for the tips from the golf course directly.November 5th, 2009 at 7:01 pm -

You could if you wanted to, but you don’t have to.

Not really, unless you want to. $33 an hour is pretty cheap, however, unless he’s doing multiple lessons at once. If this is a one on one lesson for $33 an hour, and you feel like he helped your game, feel free to tip him.

It isn’t necessary to tip the pro and he would not expect one. However, if you were pleased with his lessons, you could buy merchandise from him to show your appreciation.

No, I think the pro would be surprised to get a tip. I am a golf pro and I only get one or two people a year that tip me for lessons and I work at a private club. Its not necessary, but if you want to go ahead.

no rules about this. it depends on the situation. sometimes buying coffee and bringing it to lessons is pretty much appreciated by these pros, who have back to back sessions during peak times.
