Do I have a chance of becoming a pro golfer?

I am 23 years old, I love golf and always have but can't decide if I want to give it my all. I work full time and go to school. Ever since I was about 14 or 15 ive been able to shoot around even par. My lowest round is a 65. I have never got a lesson and probably play once a week or every two weeks. I usally shoot a couple over par and sometimes a few under. This is with no practice or coaching. My short game is pretty good, I can get up and down from anywhere, thats what saves me my strokes. My average drive is probably about 270 but I know if my mechanics were 100 percent I could get 300, because I do every now and then. My buddy works at the tpc southwind in memphis where the Fedex St. Jude is held, and I get to play every now and then. I played a few weeks ago, I hit about 4 greens and still shot 5 over. I played from the tips also, this makes me think I could do it. Does anyone have any advice for me? O and I shot that 65 my first time playing in about 3 months, golf is a crazy game. LOL

Yeah you definitly have a shot. What I like about you is that you have a good shortgame which means your alreday doing a lot of things right. If you went to get maybe 3 or 4 lessons with a coach to help you long game you will easily be shooting under par, you have potential the only thing lacking is maybe comitment to it if you really want to do it then go for it. Pro golf is a big comitment and it will mess up your head if you dont comit.

You definitely have the potential. It’s great that your short game is really strong because that’s the toughest part to get down. Like the guy above said, it comes down to the commitment. If you’ve ever though that you’ve really wanted to do it, then you definitely should. If you’re around a scratch golfer without any lessons before and you only play once a week then I really think it’s there. Try to find a pro who you really like and start getting lessons from him. If you have a buddy at tpc southwind and you get to play there occasionally (which is really cool), then definitely try to look into something over there because that is definitely A+ material. Also, try to play as much as you can, you would be surprised at what a lot of practice can do for you. If you have the time to do it I really suggest it….don’t waste your special talent.
