PLAYING GOLF BY SELF VS. WITH FRIENDS/FAMILY?
When I play solo - shoot my normal 84-87. Have big time AD.D.,so need silence to do math in my head(yardage/wind/elevated greens) . Also need extra focus bc am a total feel player who shoots 80's bc I can chip pich and putt really well.
But A or B game never shows up when playing with a group of friends. As much as I try, playing with group and talking gets me out of synch. Lucky if I shoot 90-95. Constantly hear from others,"man, thought you been practicing. They think I am full of bull.
Nerves arent a problem. Just normal conversing while playing. It throws me off.
Mostly on feel shots around green and putts.
What can one do?
Anyway to be able to focus and still be conversational playing partner?

Lets set aside excuses of why you require specific conditions for you to operate esp. in an activity that requires to interact with others ok? Golf is a social game.
You may need to accept that there are too many distractions that exists during the course of a round…now, your going to be looking absolutely ridiculous when you reach the point of blaming sounds of birds & nature be the reason you cannot perform to your expected levels.
“Throws you off”…well, perhaps it is you…that is allowing factors, throw you off in the first place.
You playing with friends…so enjoy the moment and live in it…rather than have your own perception of how you are supposed to play, ruin a fine moment with friends.

hmmm concentrate what you are doing rather than listening what they are saying…be confident because we all know that golf is a social game…

If you have an attention disorder be sure you take medication for it before playing with your family or friends. Then learn to concentrate. Take 10 seconds per shot for the practice swing , the actual shot and the follow through. Then converse with the others. But for those 10 seconds, you have to be fully involved in the business of golf, nothing else.

Medication or develop a pre-shot routine. You may think you have one, but if you have trouble focusing on your shot when people are around, you don’t have a pre-shot routine. You do the same thing every time whether you’re alone or in a foursome. If your short game is as good as you say, then it should save you when you’re playing in a group.
