Looking for a golf ball comparable to PRO V1X?
I know that most of you are thinking, there is no ball comparable to the Pro V's. I agree, but can't afford to pay full price for them, and the place I go to that sells used golf balls can't keep them in stock long enough for me to have a shot at them.
Therefore, I am searching for the "next best thing". Plenty of long balls out there, but the greatness of the ProV is the way it checks on the greens. What other balls check up well on chips and wedges/short irons into the greens. The guy at the used golf shop recommended Taylormade Red???
Now that you know my dillema, I am open to your suggestions. Thanks,

Try the Bridgestone Tour B330s. The carry a whole lot of spin. Also try the Nike one platinum.
Yes the ball you play makes a difference in the difference, but you don’t want a ball that goes far like a Top Flite. The good balls don’t go far but they spin a lot on your scoring clubs. Thats what makes a difference.

Just curious (I’m not trying to be sarcastic or anything): Does the ball you use make a difference in how far you hit?

For the price, Srixon makes a very good golf ball. Even their lower end golf balls have a nice feel.

If you’re not opposed to used golf balls, check out Rock Bottom Golf. They’ve got a ton of used Titleists (and other brands), plus some decent bargains on other new stuff.
If you decide to buy there and end up with $75 or more for your order, enter RockBottomGolfBalls during checkout and
you’ll get free (ground, domestic US) shipping.July 3rd, 2009 at 2:26 pm -

I recommend any bridgestone ball. They are fairly priced and perform GREAT!
