Is there a penalty for hitting your partners ball in matchplay?

Here's the scenario:
It's team matchplay (best ball); there are two teams with two players on each. My partner chips up on the green to a few feet away from the pin. I also have a chip shot from off the green. My partner does not mark his ball, I chip up on and collide with his ball, both veering off a few feet in either direction.
Is there a penalty for this? The rules are totally different for matchplay than stroke play. I know the rules of golf fairly well, but I'm stumped as to whether this is a penalty in stroke or match play because we were both chipping from off the green.
Anyone know the official rule on this? If I were using my better judgement, my opponent could require me to play the shot over again with no penalty.
thanks in advance.
** To "Father K", I did play/chip my partners ball, my ball collided with his. The rule you posted does not apply. Thanks though..
**To fix the above, I DID NOT play/chip my partners ball...sorry!

USGA Rule 30-3(d) If a player makes a stroke at a wrong ball that is not in a hazard, he is disqualified for that hole, but his partner incurs no penalty even if the wrong ball belongs to him. If the wrong ball belongs to another player, its owner must place a ball on the spot from which the wrong ballwas first played.

Why would you wanna hit your partner’s balls. That might hurt really bad.

In a team matchplay, since you and your partner were chipping from OFF the green, and your partner chipped first but did not mark the ball before you played your chip shot. Chipping from off the green you hit his ball, there is no penalty. the ball that you hit has to be replaced to its original position. No penalty.

No penalty if your ball was off the green when you played your shot.
