theres no secret in the golf swing its all there for people to see but even the perfect swing wont work every time as we are human and we are made of soft flesh and its inconsistent. Honestly it all comes down to practice and each swing is an individual as a fingerprint, so go to see your local pro as they are trained to give you something to work on that may only improve your game, and then work hard at it and you'll improve through time.

Get help from the golf pro at the course where you play. Then practice, practice, practice.

The secret I have found for the full swing is to start with a quarter swing. When you start making good contact with the ball on a straight path, then move to a half-swing until you get the same results. Keep progressing to a three-quarter and finally a full swing. This is the best advice I ever received and it only keeps you focused on one thing. Hit the ball, forget the other stuff.

Presuming you are right-handed; your left wrist should be inline with your forearm at the top.

Your right knee should remain bent throughout the swing. This keeps you from swaying.

This is a great question. This is my own personal opinion, but I'm sure some folks would disagree. Every single person has a unique morphology, that is, every person is built differently. Don't get me wrong, it's nice to have a fundamental swing with the basics, but I truly believe that the golf swing is unique to the individual. I think the key to mastery is tapping into your own unique strengths. So, in answer to your question, I don't think there is a golf swing secret. Learn the basics of course, however, know that the key is to find your own individual unique swing that works for you. With that said, no two swings are identical. I love what Arnold Palmer said about golf.... "Golf is deceptively simple, yet endlessly complicated." The same holds true with the swing. Unlocking the mystery is using the basics (grip, stance, keeping your head still, etc) to discover a swing that works for you.................

Andrew, the swing theory didn't work?
You're looking for something magical to fall out of the sky and land in your lap. I know of no golfer that found the secret to golf while exploring the ancient pyramids or after having found a secret room in the Taj Mahal.
You'll have to do what every great golfer ahead of you has done. Master the basics and build from here. That 20 minutes of hitting golf balls before your round isn't going to get it. Start with chipping and putting, minimally, for an hour a day and then go to some pitch shots in addition to the chipping and putting. Keep adding to that routine.
If you just want to work on the "full swing" then go to a driving range and pound tee balls all day. You won't learn much about golf though.

Try to emulate a great swing. the secret of a great takeaway is the biggest part. Tiger is the best player since Nicklaus for 2 main reasons, 1. His take away is almost perfect and everytime. 2. he makes a lot of putts. concentrate on the takeaway, and the trhough swing will come very easy.

Honestly, try & take lessons from your local pro (usually at a local driving range or golf course). At least the pro can tell you immediately what you're doing wrong & how to correct the problem. Going to web sites or reading articles will not help you. Your problem needs to be looked at by a pro. Simple as that. Good luck.
