Help me think of a Christmas gift for a hubby with no hobby?
My husband is a great guy, he spends much time with the kids and therfore hasn't got a real hobby. While this is great , it makes shopping for him hard, can't do the golf or hunting thing.
He's 50ish and likes history and watching crime TV and CSI type shows. He's not real into tech toys, I'm the family computer buff. Some past gifts include a fireproof safe, massage certificate, OU memorabilia, a pikepass, concert tickets, and lingere and oils etc.
I'd like to go all out and plan a long weekend away without the kids for his main present, but will need an under the tree gift or gifts reguardless. Please share your ideas, Thanks.
Thanks for the good advice so far. I think I'll get him a travel book on spain and on on poland. THose are two of the places we are looking forward too. Also totally unrelated some c7 flasher bulbs for the look he loves on the christmas tree. I'm leaving the questino open in hopes of even more ideas.

Would he like books on the topics that interest him? Check Amazon, they have everything under the sun.

My hubby is also a history buff and loves the big picture books that relate to his area of history interest. I found some great ones at Costco this weekend. Or I might get an item to go with the weekend getaway. For example if you are going to the beach wrap a towel, going skiing wrap a pair of gloves.

The first thing that popped into my head after reading he liked history, was to go to the History Channel website and get him something from there like a DVD on a subject he likes. They’ve got a neat little shopping site that even gives you suggestions on who you’re buying for, price range and that sort of stuff.
You mentioned he likes CSI type things as well. Maybe a DVD of the series? Amazon.com has a list of all of those.
Good luck to you. And by the way, I like your idea of a romantic long weekend out for just the two of you.
