I would see start to teach them the basic/fundamentals of the game. You can do that by teaching them how to chip and have a contest of closest to pin/target for a prize.

Don’t bring your entire set. You really don’t want those kids swinging woods or long clubs. I would suggest you just bring your wedges (pitching and sand) and your putter, may be your 9 iron if you need more clubs.
Things to watch out for: Make sure no kids are swinging the club WITHOUT you watching and other kids are at a safe distance BEHIND the child swinging (meaning looking at his back). A golf club go flying loose can cause quite a bit of damage to a child, even if it didn’t hit the head.
Soft foam balls are great. You can put up a net in front of the kid and tie couple targets on the net, give prizes for hitting a target…putting contests are always fun too.
Don’t expect too much from them, make it easy to win or get recognized cuz it is quite difficult to a child to swing an adult golf club, let alone trying to hit the ball and make it fly.July 16th, 2009 at 7:59 am
