golf balls?

Kevin K asked:

as a newcomer to golf rather than going out buying a load of golf balls i decided to go to the beach near my local golf club and search.
I found about 15 balls, however they are of various types, am I better sticking to one type of ball? whats the differnce between ball types?
In what way are balls marked practice inferior?(got about 6 of these)
are balls labelled pro V1 and then a number different to Pro V1x?

For a beginner this is the perfect way to get yourself some golf balls. Different BAlls do do different things such as roll farther or fly father or spin more. But at your level their really is no difference so play any ball that you have. There is no point in paying 20 30 dollars for a dozen balls.

I would buy some. The ones sitting around could have gotten damaged or water could have gotten in the somehow.

Practice balls are ones purchased buy driving ranges that you get buckets of them to hit. They are less expensive and of lower quality.

Pro V1′s and V1x’s are arguably the best balls out right now. They are made by a company called Titleist, and are the most expensive balls sold.

I played golf about 7 years ago in High School, and I just started playing again about a month ago. I think the absolute best bang for your buck, right now, is to go to academy. They sell recycled golf balls in a bag of 75 for only $14. Thats what I’m using right now, and there are really some nice quality golf balls in there. Nike, titleist, noodle…you name it, it’s in there.I’d say 3/4 of them look like they were only hit once or twice and got lost somewhere, and this company goes to the courses and finds them, cleans them, and re sells them. They are put out by a company called “Reload”. They come in a cool black mesh bag with handles. I just keep it in my room, and load up my golf bag before I go play a round. Im still on my 1st bag, and i have about 3/4 of the balls left. Im not going to spend $30 on a dozen balls when I can get some of the exact same balls for $14 for 75 of them.

As a newcomer to the game i would like to say welcome. You would be better sticking to one type of ball because you can get used to it and hit better than you would if you used different types of balls. The balls marked practice inferior are practice balls and are not as high quality as some of the top brands. The balls are different in the fact that they might have bigger spaces between each little bump or the bumps might be bigger. As a golfer I would sugest Pinnicle or Nike black one. Those are some top brand golf balls. Some others are Ping, Slazenger, Taylormade, and thousands more. I hope my answer was useful even if it wasnt what you were looking for. have a great day and feel free to email me @ for and further golf questions.
