Chi-Town Girl asked:

let me explain.i am the only girl in my family. i grew up with nothing but guys (brothers, cousins ect) so all the things that i am passionate about in my life and all my hobbies are very much "guy things" for instace
1. i am obsessed with japanese & chinese martial arts
(i have an extension of samurai swords) i dont know any girl who collects these
2. cant live without golfing(i have to golf about twice a week)
3.breakdancing,hip-hop,graffiti art (extremely passionate about this)
4.capoeira ( is an Afro-Brazilian art form that ritualizes movement from of martial arts, games, and dance)i practice this 4 times a week
5.comic books(especially batman ones)

i mean i know i have some girlie girl stuff about me but everyone always tells me"oh you are such a guy" and that bugs me

I used to be a complete tomboy, dressed and acted like a guy. My best friends have always been guys. I get along with them really well.

I changed to dressing like a girl, acting like a tomboy. My personality is soooooo tomboyish. :D

    Love it!

Why would it bug you? Think of all the girls who will/do wish they could be “one of the guys”. It’s nothing to be ashamed of or annoyed about it it’s just who you are!

PS: I make wooden swords because I’m scared of sharp objects :)

You are who you are. Period. Everyone has to look themselves in the mirror, and love who they are. Regardless of anyone else doing what they do (i.e. “guy things”), it is important you like what you do. Be happy in who you are. Anyone who doesn’t like it isn’t worth your time. The only rules that apply to the things you “should” like are the rules you make for yourself. Self acceptance is the first step towards true happiness.

Well I don’t see anything wrong with the things you are interested it. SO you are not a girly-girl. So what. You are what you are. You don’t have anything to worry about and tell everyone to get over it. Maybe you need to find new friends that you have more in common with.
