4 out of 5 stars Seems Good   February 20, 2008

I haven't had the net long but I have already really enjoyed it. The black catcher mat in the back works great and unless you shank one off the toe you should not lose a ball into your neighbor's yard. The construction is similar to many modern day tents. Easy to put up with just two shock corded poles and some clips. Once it is properly assembled it seems very sturdy and I've had no problems with it catching balls or failing under ball strikes. Easy and Fun plus a decent price. I would recommend this net over the more expensive nets you can get at major retail chains.

4 out of 5 stars Good Practice Investment with Caveat   May 30, 2010

No matter which practice net you decide to buy, you're going to read the same thing over and over: it got holes in it. Knowing this going into my purchase, I also bought a pack of Almost Golf practice balls. Look, you're working on your swing and building up muscle memory and flexibility right? If you really wanted practice in "real world" conditions, you need to go to a range and hit real balls at real distances.

I've already hit hundreds of Almost Golf balls into this net/cage, and you can't see a mark or a hole or any damage whatsoever. I think, for what I was looking for, this is the cat's meow.

Only downside for me is the set up. It's hard for one person to do it alone, and I won't leave mine set up overnight (too many critters around, both the 2 legged and 4 legged variety). After a few times I will figure out my system, but for now, it's not the easiest to set up alone.

4 out of 5 stars my husband loves it   December 30, 2008

I bought this for my husband for Christmas, after a lot of research on other golf tents. He loves this. I also bought him a little putting mat to go with it, and he was out there Christmas afternoon and the rest of the weekend. One complaint was that the elastic that goes thru the poles had broken and the poles came apart. If he wanted to wait, we would have sent it back for a new one. Instead, he fixed it himself and started golfing!!!

4 out of 5 stars Worth It, But Still Below Expectations...   October 10, 2009

After doing considerable internet research to find just the right golf net, I decided on purchasing this one. Mostly because I wanted a large net, and a relatively inexpensive one.

Setup - with two people it was a breeze, about 10 -15 minutes total, be careful when manipulating the rods

After continuous use, perhaps 2-3 hours everyday for a week, holes were developing in the very bottom edge of the mat where the black plastic meets the white netting in the back. The force of my shot was tearing the plastic near the seam. I basically have to make sure I don't hit any hard grounders or the ball flies right through.

However, considering that other nets advertising nearly the same utility could cost up to $2,000, I thought this net was a bargain and am ultimately satisfied with it. I just wish the durability was higher.
